Solid papillary carcinoma is a rare type of breast carcinoma accounting for less than 1 % of all breast cancers. At low magnification, the tumour is composed of multiple well-circumscribed nodules arranged in a geographic jigsaw-like pattern. At higher magnification, the cells are epithelioid to spindled with inconspicuous fibrovascular cores. It can also commonly show neuroendocrine differentiation. By immunohistochemistry, the tumour cells are diffusely positive for ER, PR, CK8/18 and negative for HER2, with variable staining for chromogranin and synaptophysin.
